About CHAS

The Children’s Hospital Aid Society (CHAS) comprises a passionate group of 75 women who have positively impacted the lives of children in Calgary for more than a century.

Established in 1908, CHAS has devoted itself to supporting local children's charities through fundraising activities such as golf tournaments and bridge luncheons. Beyond raising funds, CHAS members generously volunteer their time and resources by preparing meals, assembling lunches, and organizing parties for children.

Thanks to their relentless commitment and tireless efforts, CHAS has raised and contributed an impressive total of over $11.4 million, significantly enhancing the lives of children and families within their community.

What CHAS means to me?
CHAS exemplifies our ability to love to help. It brings together the people who care about the cause and share the passion for empowering children, their families, and nurturing a stronger and healthier community.
— Anna Maier, President

Why Give to CHAS?

  • When you give to CHAS, you support organizations that improve children's health and well-being.

  • CHAS builds relationships with donors who want to support children and with organizations who need their help. Through fundraising events and volunteering, CHAS donates to agencies in greatest need of support.

  • CHAS has a comprehensive request application reviewed by a committee that assesses each request. A follow-up on the use of funds is required.

  • Because CHAS is a 100% volunteer-run charity, administration costs are kept to an average of 3%. Your donation goes further!
